The Tour heads to Iowa Speedway for the Featherlite Trailers 200. - By Charli Brown
Chuck Darling swept both races at Spencer Speedway last year in the True Vaue/Dart Machinery Modified Series.
Newton, IA -
The Whelen Modified Online Tour makes it's first "fictional" stop of
the summer for the Featherlite Trailers 200 Wednesday night.
"We
just wanted to try and give the drivers a change of pace and some new
asphalt to race on" explained League Director, Richie Coy.
"That's
one of the great things about online racing" he explained further;
"We've been following the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour schedule up until
now and we thought, "Hey, wouldn't it be cool to race at Iowa Speedway
and give the guys a chance to race someplace different at the same
time?"
The division saw it's strongest turnout for the New Hampshire 200 two weeks ago and interest in the Iowa race is strong as well.
Thursday
night, the True Value/Dart Machinery Modified Series makes it's third
visit to Spencer Speedway in Williamson, New York for the Don Pratt
Memorial 100 presented by Monroe Extinguisher.
Saginaw,
Michigan's Chuck Darling swept both races at Spencer Speedway last year
and hopes to defend his title as the "King of Spencer."
Darling
faces a new challenge this year as SST Modified hot shoes Tony Hanbury
and Zach Truesdail look to defend their home turf and steal away a win
Thursday night.
The action cranks up Wednesday night at Iowa for
the Featherlite Trailers 200. Practice begins at 8 PM EST with Coors
Light Pole Qualifying starting at 9 PM EST.

win over Brown, Chris Forster, Tony Hanbury and Dennis Frates.

Nazareth Speedway hosts the True Value/Dart Machinery Modified Series this week. - By Charli Brown
Charli Brown led 54 of the race's 100 laps to win the Service Electric 100 last year at the Nazareth Speedway.
Nazareth, PA -
This week, the True Value/Dart Machinery Modified Series takes center
stage as the series makes it's second visit to the tricky 1 mile tri-oval
located in Nazareth, Pennsyvania.
Defending race winner Charli
Brown leads a strong field of cars into Nazareth for the Service
Electric 100 Thursday night including current True Value/Dart
Machinery Modified Series point leader PJ Stergios and defending Spring
Season champion, Zach Truesdail.
"Nazareth is definately a
driver's track, for sure" commented Brown. "I think it helps to have a
little bit of road racing skill because we were shifting during the
race, last year" he added.
While Nazareth Speedway is torn down
and closed for racing, the SIModified.com Online Racing Leagues
continue to visit historic tracks that have hosted modified races in
the past, as well as modern day facilities. This will be the series'
second visit to Nazareth, and will continue to be a stop for years to
come.
The Service Electric 100 will open with a one hour practice
at 8 PM EST Thursday night, while Dart Heads Pole Qualifying begins at
9 PM EST. The Service Electric 100 will take the green flag at 9:15 PM EST.
